The Oakdale Joint Unified School District board approved several routine and governance items during the meeting, including adoption of the consent calendar, a trustee-compensation adjustment, and a resolution ordering the November 3, 2026 governing-board election.
During the consent portion of the meeting, a motion to adopt the consent calendar was moved and seconded and carried on a roll-call vote; trustees responded "aye" and the clerk recorded the item as passed on the record. The transcript notes the item "Passes 5 with 1 extension."
On board compensation, the superintendent recommended aligning trustee pay with negotiated increases received by other district staff: "Therefore, as superintendent of the Oakdale Unified School District, I recommend that the board of trustees approve the 4% increase to the annual board compensation retroactive to 07/01/2025," the superintendent said. A motion to approve the 4% adjustment was made and approved by voice vote.
The board also adopted Resolution 25-26-16 ordering the governing-board election consolidated with the statewide general election on Nov. 3, 2026, to elect three trustees (areas 1, 4 and 5) for four-year terms; the resolution directs that copies be delivered to the county superintendent and the election officer and notes candidate-statement payment requirements at filing.
In reports the board received a first reading on revised board policy 3400 (management of district assets), including a recommendation to raise the capitalization threshold from $5,000 to $10,000 to align with a federal change to the Office of Management and Budget threshold that took effect Oct. 1, 2024; staff said they will return in June with the updated policy language for review.
