Missoula County administrators approved reappointments and new appointments to local community councils and adopted an update to the Parks and Trails Advisory Board bylaws during the administrative meeting.
Staff member Maddie (speaker 6) presented requests to reappoint Sharon Teague and Richard Weston to the Seated Lake Community Council for three-year terms through May 31, 2029. Maddie also presented a slate for the West Valley Community Council: reappointing Dave Thompson to a new three-year term, appointing Julie Van Heise to a three-year term and appointing Cindy Johnson to a partial term through May 31, 2027. A commissioner moved to approve the slate; the board voted by voice to approve the appointments.
The county also presented a countywide bylaws update intended to make board, council and committee bylaws more uniform. Nick (introduced earlier) described the Parks and Trails Advisory Board changes as modest—mainly clarifying how alternates move to voting roles, setting officer term limits and updating duties to match current practice. A motion to approve the Parks and Trails Advisory Board bylaws was moved and approved by voice vote.
Staff announced certificates of appreciation for several community council members who are stepping down and the meeting adjourned.
