Oakdale holds LCAP hearing; staff highlights improved AP pass rates and equity-multiplier work

The Oakdale Joint Unified School District held a public hearing on its Local Control and Accountability Plan, with staff presenting goals, metrics and actions meant to guide the district’s three-year cycle of improvement.
Mrs. Wagner summarized the district’s three broad goals: (1) K–12 academic excellence and college/career readiness; (2) strategic and accelerated intervention in academics, mental and behavioral health for unduplicated and at-risk students; and (3) maintaining facilities, transportation and technology infrastructure. She pointed to measures tracked in the LCAP, including SBAC results, California School Dashboard metrics and English-learner progress.
On academic indicators, Mrs. Wagner said the district’s Advanced Placement pass rate rose last year from 71% to 81%: “Our advanced placement scores, went from 71 percent pass rate to 81 percent pass rate last year,” she said. She also described actions funded through equity-multiplier resources — for example, adding a second English teacher at a targeted site to reduce class sizes and expand in-person electives — and noted that some equity-multiplier funds were not available next year due to changes in student mobility.
Staff emphasized that each LCAP goal has metrics and actions attached, and that the district will bring local indicators and more detailed measures forward in June. The public hearing closed without an immediate vote; staff said the district will present final LCAP items at future meetings for formal consideration.
