Council waives first reading of speed-limit exceptions ordinance after liability concerns

After discussion about traffic-calming alternatives and enforcement, Council member McFeden moved and Council member Strange (second) supported waiving the first reading of Ordinance 2026‑01; the council recorded a 5-0 roll-call vote in favor. The ordinance will proceed through the city's two-reading process and, if adopted in future meetings, will be codified in the municipal code.
