Ford County awards asphalt, aggregate and striping contracts in 2026 paving program

Sealing‑aggregate bids for KDOT CM‑B material (6,000 tons) were presented. Superintendent Ross recommended Hard Rock Sand & Gravel at $6.50 per ton (total $39,000); the board approved that award. On roadway striping, Straight‑Line Striping’s per‑gallon estimate ($25.77) and total estimate ($54,117.00) were recommended and approved. For bulk road salt, Central Salt Inc. was awarded a delivered bid of 150 tons at $61.42 per ton (delivered total $9,213.00).
Minutes record the board’s approvals by 2‑0 votes and do not include extended debate or dissent. The Safe Streets for All interlocal agreement, presented by Assistant County Counselor Samantha Sweley and Superintendent Ross and described in the minutes as carrying no county financial obligation, was also approved at the same meeting.
