County treasurer: 2021 tax sale finalized; court hearing set before next sales proceed

Rose said buyers have received sheriff’s deeds and the county is in the disbursement phase, but some parcels remain subject to attorney objections that require judge approval. A hearing was scheduled for June 10, 2026; staff said the law firm handling the sale cannot complete the journal entry and move forward with subsequent sales until the court rules.
Rose explained that certain parcels have attorneys who will not sign off on the journal entry, which triggers a judicial hearing before final sale scheduling can proceed for those lots. She said once the judge issues rulings, the county will continue with scheduling and disbursements.
Quote: "So we're kind of at a standstill with the next tax sale until after June," Rose said.
Next steps: staff will return when disbursement accounting is nearly complete and after the June hearing to seek motions related to remaining parcels.
