Seward County accepts $6,157 increase to public health emergency preparedness award

Bree Greason, director of the Seward County Health Department, told commissioners the county’s Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEEP) award from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment was increased by $6,157.
Greason said the department had budgeted $20,522 for the program, that it was initially awarded $14,365 while KDHE awaited federal figures, and that KDHE later finalized the award with the additional $6,157 shown in the amendment packet. She asked the board to accept the amendment and allow county staff (Greg Rieson was named in the motion) to sign the paperwork and place the increase on file.
Commissioner Stanton moved to accept the increase and authorize signature; the motion was seconded and passed on a unanimous voice/hand vote.
