Gove County commissioners approve noxious-weed plan, security cameras and routine financial items

At their Feb. 23 meeting the Gove County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a county Management Noxious Weed Plan, a Tree Top Security camera contract, accounts payable checks and a set of tax add/abate entries; several departmental updates were heard.
Gove County commissioners voted Tuesday to adopt several routine administrative and operational measures while hearing updates from county staff and the newly hired economic development director.
The board met at 8:15 a.m. at the Gove County Office Building with Chairman Adam Teeter and commissioners Charles (Chuck) Kuntz, Joe Schmidtberger and Steve Hirsch present. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and approval of the agenda.
On motions that carried unanimously, the board approved the county Management Noxious Weed Plan and accepted Accounts Payable checks 74406–74460. Commissioners also approved amended minutes and tax add/abate entries 2026000112, 2026000113 and 2026000123–2026000130. Earlier in the morning, county staff reported that annual reporting to the KSA had been completed and was available for commissioner signatures.
In the afternoon session the board approved a quotation from Tree Top Security to install or replace security cameras after a presentation by Dallas Haselhorst; that motion also passed unanimously. Commissioners instructed staff to gather additional quotes on a 7210 tractor repair versus replacement after a presentation by Drew Tuttle; the board then held an executive session for non-elected personnel from 1:30–1:40 p.m.
The meeting closed with a unanimous motion to adjourn at 1:58 p.m.
