Gove County commissioners approve landfill proposition, transfer landbank funds and appoint deputy appraiser

The board went into an attorney–client executive session at 8:17 a.m. to discuss the landfill. The commissioners returned to open session at 8:32 a.m., after which Chairman Adam Teeter moved to accept the landfill proposition; Commissioner Joe Schmidtberger seconded and the motion carried by unanimous vote. Later in the morning Amber Hutchison discussed the county's landbank funds. Adam Teeter moved to transfer the landbank funds to the county general fund; Joe Schmidtberger seconded and the motion carried by unanimous vote.
Following a separate executive session for non-elected personnel, the board approved Chuck Kuntz's motion to appoint Erin Lammers as Deputy Appraiser and to set the wage at $22.50 per hour. That motion also passed unanimously.
The commission additionally approved routine financial business: accounts payable checks numbered 74535 through 74574 and add-and-abate items 2026000232 through 2026000398, each by unanimous vote. The regular meeting moved briefly to the Road & Bridge Department at 11:15 a.m. so commissioners could review maps needing scanning, then adjourned at 11:25 a.m.
