Gove County commissioners approve minutes, payments and tax adjustments after multiple executive sessions

Chairman Adam Teeter called the meeting to order at 8:15 a.m. and Commissioners Chuck Kuntz, Joe Schmidtberger and Steve Hirsch were present. Commissioner Chuck Kuntz moved to approve the meeting agenda; Commissioner Joe Schmidtberger seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
The board held several executive sessions during the morning. "Adam made a motion to go into executive session for attorney cliental privileges from 8:18 a.m. until 8:28 a.m.," the minutes record; the board returned to open session, then approved an additional 10-minute attorney‑client session. Later, at 9:29 a.m., the board went into a 10-minute executive session for non‑elected personnel at the request of Brock Maier. At 11:29 a.m. the board again entered executive session "to prevent public knowledge of the matter to be discussed" at the request of Dan Godek. Each motion was seconded and carried by unanimous vote.
After returning to open session in the afternoon, the board approved amended minutes on a motion by Joe Schmidtberger, seconded by Adam Teeter. The board then approved accounts payable checks numbered 74575 through 74624 (motion by Schmidtberger, second by Teeter) and later approved a series of add and abates (items listed in the minutes) on a motion by Adam Teeter, seconded by Chuck Kuntz; both motions carried unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 12:33 p.m. on a motion by Teeter, seconded by Kuntz.
