The Crockett City Council approved several personnel appointments during its meeting.
City staff told the council that Ashley Young had stepped down from the library advisory board and the board recommended Melanie Hooks to serve the remainder of Young's term; the council moved to approve Hooks and the Mayor (S3) announced the motion carried. Staff also explained the Building and Standards Commission had lost two members and had no alternates; to avoid costly rescheduling when members are absent the Mayor nominated Carter Hall and Bertha (Berta) Harris as alternates. Council moved, seconded and approved both nominations.
Why it matters: Filling these advisory roles restores the boards' ability to meet with a quorum and moves forward oversight roles for library and building-code matters.
What's next: Newly appointed members will serve the remainder of the indicated terms and staff will update rosters and post required notices.
