Rappahannock County School Board members adopted two resolutions honoring long-serving employees and approved routine housekeeping items during their May 12 meeting.
The board read a full resolution honoring Kelly Estes for 33 years of service and adopted a similar resolution for Karen Williams, also cited for 33 years of service at district schools. Both resolutions were moved and approved by voice vote as part of the consent/agenda items.
Trustees also approved the district's annual bank-signer resolution to update authorized signatories. The board moved and approved the submission for the VSBA Excellence in Workforce Readiness award (the CTE/public-safety program was described during the meeting and will form part of the submission). Finally, a board member moved to convene a closed session to discuss personnel matters — including appointments, resignations, renewals/nonrenewals, staff lists, sick-leave bank requests and the superintendent’s evaluation under Virginia Code § 2.2-3711 — and the motion was seconded.
All routine motions were announced approved with vocal 'aye' votes; the record shows no roll-call tallies recorded during the meeting.
