The Garfield County Board of County Commissioners on May 4 approved a set of routine financial and procurement measures, including three resolutions that set the county's maximum monthly highway expenditures and the authorization of several contracts and purchase orders.
Commissioner Joe Kegin moved to approve Resolution #26‑60 Determining Maximum Monthly Highway Expenditures in the amount of $5,892,560.85; the motion passed with the support of Chairman Clarence Maly and Vice‑Chairman Reese Wedel. The board also approved Resolution #26‑61 (CBRI) for $2,624,044.26 and Resolution #26‑62 (CIRB) for $296,122.82, each by unanimous vote.
The commissioners reviewed quotes for concrete repairs to the Garfield County Courthouse and Annex. The low quote from Wiggin Concrete Pumping—$4,400 for the Courthouse and $4,600 for the Annex—was approved on a motion by Vice‑Chairman Wedel. The board also approved a Bridge Inspection Invoice (#424305) from Circuit Engineering District #8 for $1,771.22 and adopted Resolution #26‑63 to add a new fund to the Chart of Accounts for Commissioner District #3 Water Relocation (IMO Road).
Other fiscal actions included a $10,000 transfer of appropriation within Highway‑Unrestricted for District #1, approval of April 2026 monthly reports from county offices subject to audit, and authorization for the County Purchasing Agent to advertise three six‑month HVAC procurement packages (Bid #26‑14, #26‑15 and #26‑16) for various county facilities with bid proposals to be received by May 15, 2026.
The board approved storm debris cleanup assistance payments of $5,000 each for Districts #1 and #3 and authorized multiple warrants, purchase orders and blanket purchase orders as presented in the Clerk’s claims listing.
The meeting adjourned with the next regular meeting set for May 11, 2026.
