Director tells commission county will accelerate ADA compliance for agendas and website

Tulare County’s Resource Management Agency director reported the county is pushing to make agenda documents and the website ADA‑compliant within about 30 days and described IT work and web updates as ongoing.
During the commission’s director’s report on May 13, the Resource Management Agency’s director, Aaron, told commissioners the county is accelerating work to bring agenda materials and the public website into compliance with ADA requirements.
Aaron said staff initially discussed a 60‑day timeline with the board clerk but that the county is attempting a faster schedule and hopes to achieve greater compliance in roughly 30 days. "We're going to try to come into compliance in 30 days," Aaron said, noting that IT fixes and web updates are in progress and that staff are coordinating across departments to streamline materials and archive older documents where appropriate.
The director also discussed operational impacts of other county offices moving into the Government Plaza building, including phased moves starting in June and possible additional parking in a back lot to accommodate increased lobby traffic.
Chair Dennis Lehman thanked staff for the effort and the commission discussed logistics including parking and building access. The commission adjourned to reconvene June 10 at 9 a.m.
