Marysville Council unanimously approves CDBG application for East Marysville street repairs

The Marysville City Council on April 7 opened a public hearing and voted unanimously to direct staff to submit a 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application for the East Marysville Streets Rehabilitation Project.
Public Works Director Jeremy Cheptelane presented the project and said staff were seeking authorization to proceed with an application for up to $3,300,000 in CDBG funds to support street rehabilitation in the East Marysville area. The public hearing record showed no public commenters and the council moved, seconded and approved the submission without opposition.
Mayor Branscomb thanked Public Works staff for recent street work and said the city has been focused on continuing pavement repairs. The council's vote directs staff to proceed with the application and positions the city to seek federal Community Development Block Grant funds for the proposed rehabilitation work.
Staff noted the final award and required amounts will be known after bids and the grant review process; the council's action was authorization to submit the application and does not by itself commit local matching funds.
