Commissioner reports crop damage from roadside spraying; staff to follow up
Summary

A board member (S7) reported complaints from farmers that a county contractor's roadside spraying drifted beyond the right-of-way and damaged crops.
"It sounds like instead of 5 to 10 feet away from the road, they were a bit too close and caused some kerfuffle with some of the farmers," S7 said, and said they will visit the farm site and follow up with staff to assess damage and remedies.
County staff (S4) later clarified that a contractor — not Rogue Construction — conducted the spraying and that staff will have Steven Roberts prepare an update for the board. No dollar estimates for damage or formal remedies were presented at the session.
Commissioners asked staff to report back with the scope of damage and next steps; the board did not take formal action during the update.
