"It was a unanimous decision from the Supreme Court, so that's a very good outcome," S8 said, and explained that the case will proceed through post‑judgment motions in Salem before the district court confirms the ruling.
S8 said there are procedural filings and costs to resolve before the county receives a final order. Once that order issues, the county will begin working with Health & Human Services on education, implementation and enforcement steps.
The official framed the result as a legal win for the county and noted staff will follow up with the mayor's team and HHS about compliance-focused implementation rather than immediate enforcement. The board did not take formal action during this announcement.
