Ellsworth County appraiser says Neighborhood Revitalization Program inactive as it nears sunset

ELL S WORTH COUNTY — Kristina Silva, the Ellsworth County Appraiser, told the Board of Ellsworth County Commissioners on March 16 that the county’s Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) will sunset on Dec. 31, 2026, and that she is preparing updates to the plan.
Silva said a property owner who failed to pay property taxes on time is currently ineligible for the NRP and has asked to be reinstated. Silva told the commissioners she signed the agreement that removes participants who pay taxes late and expressed concern that granting one exception could prompt many similar requests. The commissioners agreed the current NRP is inactive pending Silva’s revisions.
Silva will submit the updated NRP plan to the commissioners once she has made the suggested edits. The meeting record does not show the board taking a formal vote to change the program; it records discussion and direction to return the revised plan for further consideration.
