Spring Creek Church wins plan commission approval for 174‑space lot, plans to relocate athletic field

The Pewaukee Plan Commission approved site and building plans for Spring Creek Church to add a 174‑space parking lot west of the existing lot and to relocate the athletic field north on the property. Staff recommended approval with conditions including motion‑sensor and dimming options for new lighting and final engineering sign‑off; the commission moved and voted to approve with those conditions.

The applicant's engineer, Bridal Seibert, described landscaping that will include trees around the proposed parking expansion and additional buffer trees between the lot and the athletic field. "The landscape that we're doing is some trees around the existing parking expansion itself or around the proposed parking expansion," Seibert said.

A church representative said the congregation will relocate the soccer field to the northwest corner to separate children from the parking area and noted painted pedestrian lines from the lot to the children's building (Door 4). "We're actually relocating the soccer... putting it in that northwest corner... trying to keep kids safe," the representative said, describing the plan to convert the cropland to seeded grass and move the field away from vehicular circulation.

Commissioners asked about walkways, striping and whether the playground connection would require additional protections; staff said the parking lot will drain to a retention pond with filtration as part of a stormwater management plan. The commission discussed landscaping and sidewalk placement and asked the applicant to confirm details on a landscape plan; the applicant said the landscape plan will be provided and that lighting will be cut‑off to avoid shining toward nearby homes.

The commission's action approved the site plan with staff conditions, and staff will require final engineering department approval and the usual erosion control and utility plans before construction begins.
