The Pewaukee Common Council approved two local measures Thursday: a resolution updating court costs on the 2026 fee schedule and an ordinance amending zoning rules for accessory structures.
The council voted to adopt resolution 260409 to reflect a recent change in state law affecting minimum forfeitures in municipal court. Council members discussed the new amounts; during debate members cited figures appearing in the meeting materials (members referenced $30, $38, $45 and $48 while reviewing the document). The measure was moved and approved on a voice vote.
Council members also considered ordinance 2603, which revises the city’s accessory-structure standards. A staff presenter told the council the current regulations allow one larger detached structure of up to 1,200 square feet and a second smaller structure of up to 200 square feet. Under the proposed amendment, property owners may have up to two detached accessory buildings with a combined footprint of up to 1,500 square feet, allowing flexibility in how square footage is split between buildings while keeping existing setback and lot coverage requirements unchanged. “The plan commission did recommend approval at their last meeting,” the presenter said, and staff also recommended adoption. A council member moved approval; the ordinance passed on a voice vote.
On the consent agenda the council approved the accounts-payable listing for 04/20/2026 and accepted an agent change for multiple Heart of America Group properties (Thunder Bay Grill, The Machine Shed, Holiday Inn and Wildwood Lodge) to Canaan Copeland.
The council took no roll-call votes in the record; actions were approved by voice vote. The meeting adjourned after public comment concluded and closed session was canceled.
