Pewaukee council approves contract renewals, sidewalk policy changes and several public-works agreements

The council also approved extending a building inspection agreement between the village and City of Pewaukee (item 3.2), discussed a 65/35 cost split and a 2% annual increase, and approved the motion by voice vote.
The council approved a scope-of-services agreement with Saturn Lounge to develop logo designs for the city and parks-and-recreation department (item 3.3); the vendor was noted as local to Pewaukee and the estimated cost range discussed was $3,000 to $5,000.
Public-works and parks items: Council awarded the 2025 tree-clearing contract to Cut and Go Trees as the low qualified bidder for $75,671 to remove 81 trees flagged in the city's inventory, with the 2025 budget allocation of $150,000 noted. The council also approved a consulting agreement with Wachtell Tree Science for arborist services for up to $15,000, effective Jan. 1, 2026, to guide tree planting and evaluate candidates for preservation or removal.
Sidewalk policy: After a lengthy discussion of motorized bicycles, front-yard and side-yard clearing responsibilities, and an exemption for Meadowbrook Trail, the council adopted amendments to the draft sidewalk ordinance. Council members settled on a 48-hour clearing window used in surrounding cities, excluded Meadowbrook Trail from front-yard obligations, and clarified which lots are responsible for clearing sidewalk sections on corner lots.
Other motions: The council approved accounts payable listed for Nov. 17, 2025, and voted to release the final letter of credit for Cardinal Metal Subdivision after staff confirmed there were no outstanding issues.
