The Radcliff City Council on May 11 unanimously adopted four zoning-related ordinances, approving three parcel rezonings and a comprehensive amendment to the city zoning code to align with state statutory changes on manufactured homes.
Mister Pike summarized each item during the second-reading proceedings, telling the council that the city planning commission recommended each map amendment based on the evidence of record and the city's comprehensive plan. "The planning commission recommended the zone map amendment request be granted," he said while presenting the first two rezoning items.
The first ordinance rezoned 26.631 acres at 253 Battle Training Road (PVA 181-00-00-031) from R-2 (single-family) to R-4 (higher-density single-family and duplex). The council moved, seconded and approved the ordinance by roll call.
A second ordinance rezoned 4.12 acres on the south side of Battle Training Road (PVA 181-20-00-006.02) from R-2 to R-4; the planning commission had held a public hearing on April 2, 2026 and recommended approval. That measure passed by roll call vote.
The council also adopted a rezoning for 1.1218 acres at 3366 South Wilson Road (PVA 181-10-00-076) from R-2 to commercial to accommodate an applicant identified in the record as Abound Credit Union (formerly Fort Knox Federal Credit Union). The record notes that Councilwoman Daroche exited the meeting and was recused "for the record" because her husband is an employee of the applicant; the council proceeded and adopted the ordinance.
Finally, the council adopted a multi-section amendment to the Radcliff Zoning Ordinance that revises numerous articles and definitions and updates conditional-use standards across residential and holding-zone sections. The ordinance, described by staff as necessary to comply with changes in state statute governing "qualified manufactured homes," is intended to take effect alongside the state revisions on July 1, 2026.
The council did not provide ordinance numbers or additional implementation dates in the meeting record; the full texts were referred to the city's website and the city clerk for public access. Council members and staff said the planning commission had conducted hearings and that the changes were supported by planning evidence and legal review. The adopted measures will be posted on www.radcliff.org and are available through the city clerk's office.
The council adjourned the special-call meeting and moved into its scheduled work session.
