One category for a blast chiller was recommended to be removed because the specified unit exceeded what a K–12 operation needs; vendors could be reproposed in future procurements if a different spec is required.
The committee also accepted a program donation through Giant Supermarkets’ Feeding School Kids initiative: current‑year contributions of $3,692.12 plus a prior‑year discovered check of $1,413.81 for a total of $5,105.93. Administration recommended accepting the donations and transferring those funds into the food‑service fund to support meal programs.
What’s next: the committee approved forwarding the IFB to the legislative meeting for award recommendations and accepted the Giant donations for deposit to the food‑service fund.
