Dodge County Board of Adjustment elects officers, schedules site inspections and public hearings

The Dodge County Board of Adjustment met Aug. 14, 2025, in Juneau and elected William Nass as chairman, Russell Kottke as vice chairman and Mark Othmer as secretary, while also scheduling inspections and public hearings for two pending property matters.
Chairman William Nass called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. Andy O'Brion of the Land Resources and Parks Department confirmed that "the meeting was properly noticed in accordance with the open meeting law" and that notices for the public hearings were posted, mailed and published as required.
Board member Jon Schoenike moved to approve the minutes of the July 17, 2025 meeting "as written." The motion was seconded by Russell Kottke and passed by a 5-0 vote.
During the election of officers, Mark Othmer nominated William Nass for chairman; the nomination was seconded and, after no other nominations were made, the board closed nominations and cast a unanimous ballot to approve Nass (vote recorded as 4-0). Othmer then nominated Russell Kottke for vice chairman; with no other nominations and a unanimous ballot, the board approved Kottke 4-0. Jon Schoenike nominated Mark Othmer for secretary; after a second and no additional nominations, the board approved Othmer by a 4-0 vote.
The board reviewed two parcels it will consider at upcoming public hearings and requested that county staff accompany on-site inspections. The properties are: (1) Nicholas and Regina Casati — the south 40.5 feet of Lot 10 and all of Lot 11, Block 1, Job Warden's Addition to Minnesota Junction (site address N7035 State Road 26) in the Town of Oak Grove, Dodge County; and (2) Jeffry A. and Alice A. Subach — Lot 49, Howard's First Addition to Lake Grove (site address N10642 Howard Drive) in the Town of Fox Lake, Dodge County. The board directed Andy O'Brion to attend the inspections and the public hearings, which were listed on the agenda for Aug. 21, 2025.
A motion to adjourn was made and carried. The minutes were submitted with the standard disclaimer that they may be approved, amended or corrected at the next committee meeting.
