Committee staff updated members on property maintenance, listings and potential uses for agency-owned houses, and an awarded WHEDA grant.
Ed Czerkas provided a buildings maintenance and repairs report that included pantry door sensor repairs and planned window washing at the Wisconsin Dells office, soliciting quotes for bridge railings, and repairing an outside gate door. Staff reported a bed bug issue at Fait Family Apartments and that a pest control firm has been contacted.
Fred Hebert said one Necedah single-family house has been listed with Castle Rock Realty for 90 days at an asking price of $324,900, and that two people have expressed interest in another Necedah house. He also said there is interest in renting the East Street house in Beaver Dam for use as a women’s shelter and that the Beaver Street house is under consideration for sale.
The committee was told a WHEDA grant to install new thermostats and convert tubs to showers at Wyona Lake Apartments has been approved and that work will begin soon.
No formal votes were taken on property sales or shelter rental at the meeting; staff will pursue inquiries and return with recommendations or formal proposals if needed.
