The Dodge County Highway Committee on March 10 approved a resolution asking the state Secretary of Transportation to consider Dodge County airport projects when funding becomes available.
Nate Minnig presented the resolution as a petition that the county’s airport has defined projects and improvements waiting for funding. Supervisor Kraus moved to approve the cost/share agreement language; Supervisor Kavazanjian seconded and the motion carried by voice vote.
Committee members also reported on a phase‑2 airport master plan briefing that lays out improvements and projects on a roughly 20‑year horizon. Members discussed recommending the formation of an airport advisory committee once new advisory and governing committees are seated following spring elections to help guide implementation of the master plan.
The committee took no separate vote on creating an advisory committee at the March 10 meeting; members discussed the recommendation as a next step.
