One committee member summarized the status bluntly: "Consolidated," and added, "Barring something crazy, I can't imagine that would be changing." The director said the consolidation has been discussed for years and that folding IT into exec was "inevitable," but emphasized the committee will continue to prepare and present a focused project list so executive members can ask questions and offer support.
Committee members debated whether the executive committee would have time to dig into technical questions. One member said they expect exec to handle high-level oversight and to rely on the IT team and supervisors to surface issues: "You don't need to understand IT to do that," a committee member said.
No formal vote or ordinance was taken; participants characterized the change as administrative. The committee also discussed scheduling: with elections on April 7 the group said it likely will not plan a meeting in April and will reassess in May once the new board configuration is known.
The committee adjourned at 6:08 p.m.
