Human Resource Director reported the department has nine new requisitions and is actively recruiting for 16 openings, including roles such as a welder fabricator, behavioral-health therapist (outpatient), a quality-assurance specialist, a division director for Clearview and several child-support positions.
HR told the committee that an HR benefits specialist has accepted an offer and will start April 30. The director also noted two positions (ADR specialist and survey specialist for land resources and parks) currently lack requisitions and are not actively being recruited.
On leave reporting, HR said there was one two-week medical leave; the employee did not qualify for FMLA because they had been employed less than 12 months. On financial reporting, HR provided 2025 year-to-date and 2026-to-date summaries but cautioned finance has not completed year-end allocations or adjustments.
The director explained the Wisconsin deferred compensation resolution was removed from this month's packet because the director cannot attend county board and corporation counsel advised not to approve the item in committee in April given a May changeover; HR plans to bring the resolution to the committee in May. The director also previewed a no-cost benefit wave survey for Dodge County and said department heads are being asked early for 2027 budget add-ons so the committee can consider them together in June.
The committee set its next meeting for May 12, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. and adjourned at approximately 3:53 p.m.
