Dr. Heather Miller presented the district’s annual report card to the North Ridgeville City Board of Education on Oct. 15, saying the district again earned a 4.5-star rating out of five and recorded gains across multiple indicators.
Dr. Miller said the district’s achievement performance index was 83.3% and that the district saw growth in 11 measured areas. She singled out Algebra I at the high school, which she said rose from 78.4% to 87.3% in one year. ‘‘We saw 11 areas of growth from last year which is pretty amazing,’’ Dr. Miller said. She also emphasized that the progress component remained strong, with the district maintaining a five-star rating for growth measures.
Attendance and graduation items were discussed: chronic absenteeism decreased slightly from about 18.6% to 18%, and the graduation indicator moved from three stars to four, with a four-year cohort graduation rate of 93.1% and a five-year cohort rate that the presenter said rose to 94.6%.
Dr. Miller noted that the college, career, workforce and military readiness indicator is not yet graded and that the state is still finalizing reporting details; additional context will be shared as the state provides guidance.
The board’s discussion was informational; no formal motions were required for the report card presentation. Officials invited follow-up questions and said they would provide more detailed data at the Nov. 18 meeting.
