Richland One reports July purchase orders and introduces new deputy superintendent for academics

At the Aug. 12 CNI meeting, staff presented 36 purchase orders valued $50,000–$249,999 as information and clarified a purchase order does not mean work is complete. Superintendent Walker introduced Kelly Rivers as the new deputy superintendent for academics.
Miss Hodgej presented a report of 36 nonboard purchase orders between $50,000 and $249,999 for the period July 1–31, 2025 and offered to answer questions. "Please see the attached report for purchase orders," she told trustees, and clarified the list was informational.
A trustee asked whether issuance of a purchase order means the work is complete; Miss Hodgej replied no — a purchase order must be issued before a project begins. Trustees expressed appreciation for the report and had no additional questions on the item.
At the meeting's close Superintendent Walker introduced Kelly Rivers as the district's new deputy superintendent focused on academics. Rivers addressed the committee, saying she was excited to join the district and to support the superintendent and staff. The chair then adjourned the committee meeting.
No board votes were taken on purchase orders at the meeting.
