He described working part time with local newsmen while in high school and later in television, and said finding the original sketch after many years prompted him to gift it to the district.
Board members and attendees applauded the donation. The chair thanked Roberts on behalf of the district and noted the mural's longevity in the cafeteria.
What happens next: Roberts will provide a plaque with background information and staff will arrange placement for the framed sketch in a location near the cafeteria.
