Crystal McFed used the UG in a Minute show to invite residents to several upcoming community events. She said Mayor Crystal Watson will host "Crystal Clear Conversations" on March 17 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Kansas City, Kansas Townhouse Tenant Association to begin a monthly engagement series with elected officials.
On transit, the bulletin noted operators will be recognized for Transit Operators Appreciation Day and a related appreciation event is scheduled for March 20 from 2 to 5 p.m.; the host encouraged residents to acknowledge the work of transit staff.
On senior services, Crystal McFed said the Wyandotte County Area Agency on Aging is holding a March for Meals fundraiser to support senior nutrition programs and that Meals on Wheels currently has a wait list causing delays for homebound seniors. The host urged community support and said the March for Meals event is set for March 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kansas City, Kansas Community College track.
She also reminded listeners to consult the county parks and recreation page for a full calendar of local events. The bulletin did not provide contact names for event organizers beyond the mayor's office reference.
