Teterboro Noise Abatement Update and Tenant Housing Complaint Raised at Hackensack Council

Two separate quality-of-life issues were raised during public comment.
Marlene Somerville, Hackensack’s representative to the Teterboro Aircraft Noise Abatement Committee, reported that the committee’s consultant (HMMH) completed a noise survey and that Hackensack residents missed the initial survey period. She asked that the survey be reopened or reissued for Hackensack and urged the city to press the FAA, the Port Authority and the Teterboro authority to enforce recently negotiated flight paths and the informal 10 p.m.–6 a.m. curfew that currently operates as a gentleman’s agreement.
Separately, a resident identified only as Sandra described multiple housing-condition concerns at 257 Pose Street (aged windows, bathroom issues, possible misclassification of unit layout), said she has chronic asthma and needs an inspection, and asked who enforces landlord compliance. City staff responded that the city engages inspectors to enforce DCA regulations and asked Sandra for contact information so staff could direct her to the correct inspection process.
No formal action was taken; both issues were forwarded to appropriate staff and committees for follow-up.
