Council tables YMCA operating agreement renewal pending YMCA representation

A council member noted the city’s current annual payment had been $174,000 and questioned why the YMCA’s budget projected a $131,000 loss despite prior revenue, saying the YMCA had “a million dollars in revenue” the prior year.
No YMCA representative attended the meeting to answer those questions. One council member suggested tabling the item until a YMCA representative could be present; a motion to table was made, seconded and carried.
The council did not approve the agreement at this meeting and requested that a YMCA representative appear at a future meeting to address membership, revenue and the apparent projected loss.
