Weber County commissioners approved consent items F1–F13 and a string of event contracts during the April 7 meeting, clearing routine finance items and authorizing entertainment and motorsports events at the Golden Spike Event Center.
County finance officer Ricky Hatch reported issuance of 12 purchase orders totaling $73,057.36 and warrants of about $1.1 million covering 159 payments. Major warrants this week included road improvements to Skyline Drive and RAMP awards; the top payees listed were Pleasant View City Corporation ($314,000), Ogden City Corporation ($89,000), Salmon Mechanical ($65,000), Security PTY Limited ($49,000), and Geo Land Solutions ($44,000).
On the events slate, the commission approved a sponsorship/naming arrangement and contract with the Utah Cutting Horse Association to brand parts of the Golden Spike Cutting Show and several performance and motorsport contracts to use fairgrounds facilities (including a Mountain West Pulling Nationals truck-pull event). Commissioners noted these events help broaden use of the fairgrounds and generate economic impact.
