Weber County approves interlocal permitting agreement for Powder Mountain projects

Weber County commissioners voted April 7 to approve an interlocal agreement with Cache County that would make Weber County the land-use and permitting authority for specified developments at Powder Mountain, including a proposed fire station and Timberline parking-lot improvements.
Shawn Wilkinson described the arrangement: Weber County would handle subdivisions, site plans, building permits and inspections for those projects even though much of the work is within Cache County; Weber would also be authorized to collect and retain associated development fees. Wilkinson said the agreement terminates if projects are abandoned or after 10 years.
Commissioners approved Resolution 15-2026 by roll-call vote. Staff noted the agreement has been sent to Cache County for their approval but that Cache County had not yet returned a signed approval at the time of the meeting.
