Later in the meeting, Kathleen Evans of AT&T presented a $100,000 contribution to York County for the Lazy Hawk Road improvement project through the South Carolina Utility Tax Credit Program. Evans described the contribution as an investment in infrastructure that supports economic development and said the project could help deliver an estimated $5 million economic impact and bring approximately 146 jobs to the region. County leaders thanked AT&T and posed for photographs with the presenter.
The proclamation and the AT&T check presentation were part of the meeting’s official record and were followed by the council’s regular business and a public forum.
