Lapeer approves MDOT contract amendment for M‑24 tunnel connection project

Staff presentation: City staff explained that unexpected site conditions (including buried barrels and additional excavation) increased project costs. The city and its engineering partner requested additional funds from MDOT; the amendment (packet cites MDOT contract numbers 26-5064 and 25‑5280 / 255280 and municipal resolution 2026‑04) would accept the amended contract and name the city officials authorized to sign contract documents.
