Public safety committee approves two event permits and several routine items

Germantown — At its March 16 meeting the Public Safety Committee approved routine items including meeting minutes, a one-time outdoor entertainment permit for Matteo's Mexican Grill for May 5, 2026, and a producer full-service retail sales application for Spirit of Norway Vineyard LLC (dba Oncloud Wine LLC) for an event July 10, 2026 at Homestead Hollow County Park.
Committee members also heard department reports: the police monthly report showed a small drop in overall crime in January but an increase in misdemeanor arrests and items requiring overtime; the fire department reported a change in federal reporting platforms and supplied inspections totals for February (178 inspections; 63 new violations; 15 apartment inspections). The committee carried routine motions by voice vote.
