Council awards water-tank rehab contract, approves secondary-water phase and airport engineering amendment

Staff recommended award of the Page Bench tank rehabilitation (roof and hatch) to Gerber Construction for $115,515 after the other bidder was disqualified for missing documents. Council voted to award the contract unanimously; staff said work on this portion will take a few weeks after award.
The council also approved the Phase 3 secondary water project (installation of meters and related work along 1080 South and State Street). Staff noted the project is largely grant-funded and that additional meter connections from the work are expected to generate roughly $105,000 in first-year revenue from new customers; council voted to proceed.
Finally, the council approved an amendment to JUB engineering’s construction engineering fees (approximately $15,000) for FAA-required additional testing on the airport fencing project; staff said the city will be reimbursed through the grant and work was scheduled to begin Monday.
All three actions were approved unanimously. Staff will finalize contract documents and proceed with project scheduling and grant reimbursement processes.
