Council awards 2026 road resurfacing contracts to Shields Asphalt Paving
Summary

The township's assistant manager reported that four companies submitted bids for three resurfacing contracts in the 2026 program and that Shields Asphalt Paving was the lowest bidder on all three. Staff recommended awarding Contracts A, B and C to Shields per the assistant manager's Feb. 18 memo.
Council approved the awards by roll call. Staff noted that the Ridge Roadway Drive storm sewer work delayed paving last year and that a portion of that lane will be paid from the stormwater budget; the water authority may piggyback on one item if it chooses to follow township specs.
The award authorizes staff to execute contracts with Shields and to begin scheduling work per the contract timelines.
