Council approves cooperation agreements and capital releases for shuttle, fire truck and facility repairs

A cooperation agreement will allow the township to facilitate disbursement of a $145,000 statewide local share account grant to North Hills Community Outreach to purchase a senior shuttle. The motion to approve the agreement passed by roll call.
Council also approved a cooperation agreement to pass a $200,000 state grant to the Hampton Volunteer Fire Company for the purchase of a new aerial fire truck; that motion passed unanimously by roll call.
Separately, the facility director requested release of $65,000 from the capital improvement fund to replace the pool HVAC condenser, air handler and controls (Huckinstein Mechanical and OZ Enterprises cited for the work). Staff said the project budgeted $70,000 originally; lower estimates left a small contingency. Council authorized the release by roll call.
Council also authorized $14,500 from the capital improvement fund to upgrade the community center's elevator door operator to meet code (Schindler Elevator to perform the work); the motion passed by roll call. Staff said the door operator is a code item and the work is internal to the elevator mechanisms.
