Council adopts ordinance moving $2.4 million and approving targeted appropriations for master plan, streets and equipment

Auditor Miss Brickwig introduced Ordinance 15 during the May 22 council meeting as an ordinance to authorize transfers and appropriate additional funds. She told council that the ordinance includes a general-fund transfer reported in the meeting as $2,400,000 with $1,500,000 directed to a master plan cash account and $540,000 to a capital improvement cash account.

Miss Brickwig described several specific additional appropriations included in the ordinance: $5,000 for the Bureau of Inspection report reviews, $2,000 for equipment maintenance to cover unbudgeted minor expenses (including new cameras and pool repairs), $525,442.34 for street contracts related to the Green Lee Road project, $10,000 for traffic lights to replace units that have failed, and an appropriated amount to cover payments for master-plan-related water work (the transcript reports two water reimbursements and notes the village has already received $218,000 toward one). She also noted a capital improvement appropriation of $542,910 as a second payment for a fire engine for the fire department.

Council moved to suspend further readings and adopted Ordinance 15 by unanimous roll-call vote. During the meeting there were no public comments on the ordinance when the clerk asked for comment.
