Crews are commissioning new electric-vehicle chargers at a transportation yard, testing equipment and completing required paperwork so buses can return to service, Connor of In Charge said.
"Commissioning process is basically a bunch of paperwork that involves testing the charger, making sure it charges the bus, as well as making sure all the internal components are working just fine," Connor said. He added the objective is to "get these buses on the road."
The reporter on site said the installation represents "progress" and described it as "your bond dollars at work."
Commissioning, as described in the visit, consists of equipment tests, verification of internal components and documentation to confirm functionality before vehicles enter service. No formal vote or municipal action was recorded during the visit; the timeline for buses entering regular service was not specified.
