Road & Bridge supervisor Gary Ward told the Woodson County commissioners April 14 that a one-ton truck sold on Purple Wave has not been paid for and that the department is considering repairing the motor and transmission at an estimated cost of $8,000 pending a formal quote from NAPA.
Ward said commissioners requested to view the vehicle before officials commit to repairs. He also reported locating a used dump truck available through federal surplus for $13,000 and said Road & Bridge staff Todd Green and Ricky Hodges will inspect the vehicle prior to any decision.
Todd Green raised material options for improving Hereford Road's durability, including the potential use of fly ash or concrete. Commissioners did not make a purchase or repair authorization during the recorded discussion; no formal motion to spend funds on these items appears in the minutes provided.
The board later met in executive session to discuss non-elected personnel and employee performance that included Gary Ward and Todd Green.
