Council approves councilor representation at International Town & Gown conference

"I think it'd be really great to have city representation," Beal said, describing sessions designed to strengthen ties among municipalities, universities and local partners and to share best practices in community–campus work.
Mayor/Chair called for public comment; none was offered. After brief praise from other council members for Beal's work with the chapter and for the organization's recent renewal, the motion passed by unanimous vote. The clerk recorded the vote as nine in favor, zero opposed.
Next steps: the city clerk was authorized to sign the preapproval form required for conference registration and travel, and council asked for a report back after the event.
