Rockwood board adopts 2025'1030 Comprehensive School Improvement Plan, "Forward Together"

The Rockwood School District board voted on May 20 to adopt the district's 2025'1030 Comprehensive School Improvement Plan, branded "Forward Together," after presentations from cabinet and steering-committee members and a short community video.

Mary (presentation lead) and cabinet members outlined the plan's core goal areas: nurturing rigorous and equitable learning; fiscal responsibility and transparency; attracting and retaining highly qualified staff; and ensuring safe, caring schools. The presentation emphasized continuous improvement and a layered planning approach that ties the district strategic plan to building-level school improvement plans and classroom practices.

The board recognized steering-committee members who contributed to the year-long process. A video of community members and students illustrating the "Rockwood Promise" was shown as part of the presentation. Board members praised the plan's emphasis on well-being and accountability. One board member said slide 16 and 18 (the plan's implementation and continuous-improvement steps) were particularly important for measuring progress.

The motion to adopt the 2025'1030 comprehensive school improvement plan was moved, seconded and approved. President Medette called the vote; those in favor said "I." The motion passed.

The board indicated that detailed implementation steps will be developed through the district's continuous improvement cycle, with building-level plans and measurable action steps tied to the MSIP 6 process. District staff said the plan materials and additional detail would be published on the district website (forward.rsdmo.org) for public review.
