Mason County commissioners accepted a resolution from South Mason Fire Protection District No. 4 rescinding a prior request to withdraw territory from the district’s service jurisdiction and closed the related public hearing May 12.
County Administrator Travis Samuels told the board the item was a continuance of an earlier hearing and that the fire district notified the county it no longer wishes to pursue the withdrawal. The board moved to accept the district’s letter into the public‑hearing record and voted to close the hearing; commissioners recorded a voice vote in favor.
With the rescission entered into the record, the withdrawal request became moot and no further county action was taken at the meeting.
