Mayor proposes pins and challenge coins; council hears residents' garbage-billing concern

At the end of the April 27 workshop Mayor Kave raised a proposal to order lapel pins with years-of-service bars for employees and to produce challenge coins featuring the city logo and the 250th commemorative flag. Council Member Helms said a few citizens had asked why they continue to be billed for garbage service when they are only at their property part of the time.
Mayor Kave indicated the franchise agreement may need revised billing language and requested that staff provide him a copy of the franchise agreement for review. Council Member Helms noted he is working on a similar challenge-coin idea and suggested coordinating to avoid duplication.
