Des Moines County approves Rothzen Subdivision final plat with septic permit condition

The Des Moines County Board of Supervisors on May 5 adopted Resolution #2026-030 approving the Final Plat of Rothzen Subdivision, Assistant Land Use Administrator Jarred Lassiter said.
Under the resolution, approved by a motion from Tom Broeker and seconded by Jim Cary, the board required that a permit for an Onsite Waste Water Treatment System be obtained from the Des Moines County Health Department before construction of any new residence, and that a code-compliant system be installed prior to habitation. The resolution cites Section 354.8 of the Code of Iowa as authority for certifying subdivision plats.
The board’s minutes note that, unless otherwise stated, motions passed unanimously. The resolution was presented for approval following review by the county auditor, health department, secondary roads department and land use department, per the resolution language.
